Toolkit for MSM Checkpoints

This interactive Toolkit is for community-based, voluntary counselling and testing (CBVCT) services targeting men who have sex with men (MSM). It is also useful for all other CBVCT-services that address special target groups. Please replace MSM in this cases with your target group.

It addresses all topics needed to develop, provide and self-evaluate quality services in a CBVCT project and/or Checkpoint. It is divided into six sections: Operating Environment, CBVCT Services and Organisational Needs, Counselling and Linkage to Care, Communication, Advocacy, and Quality Improvement/Innovation. In all sections, ‘checklists’ support users to assess their project and develop an individual action plan. Please find out more about how to use this Toolkit in the ‘How to Use‘ chapter.

Update: the section on Quality Improvement is updated December 2019 with a complete new approach, that is useful for all Checkpoints for Quality Improvement, e.g. for yearly planning processes, expansion of services etc.

We recommend to visit the website of the Cobatest network. The COBATEST Network links organisations across Europe who offer community-based voluntary counselling and STI/HIV testing (CBVCT) services and promotes testing, early diagnosis and linkage to care in at-risk populations.

We recommend you also to visit the website of the ESTICOM training programme for Community Health Worker with a toolbox training programme: www.msm-trainings.org.
